Handmade ceramics from West Sussex
Rooted in the Countryside, Shaped by the Wheel
THE CRUMPLED POTTER
My portfolio starts with form and function. Designs evolve organically into decorative and functional pottery thrown on the wheel from stoneware clay. Each item is individual by its nature and is produced slowly as the materials dictate.

This is a slow practice. Each piece is tested, fired, cooled, considered. I work in small batches to give space for experimentation and care. Crumpled Potter is rooted in the countryside of West Sussex, the 'shed' (not smart enough to be called a studio) is bordered by fields and woodland providing inspiration for new glazes and forms.
From wheel to kiln, small stories in clay.
The Crumpled Potter Collections
Swipe + Spot
The swipe and spot collection evolved from a simple brush stroke on the bulge of a vase to what you see today. The addition of the spots came from a separate project incorporating spots and stripes. The first iteration was black underglaze but soon progressed to the wonderful hunter green seen on these pieces.
IN MOTION
A Glimpse Behind the Wheel
Clay, kiln & quiet moments
A peek behind the wheel - clay-covered hands, the occasional glaze mishap, and hours spent turning simple clay into pieces you’ll love to use. From the soft light of the West Sussex shed to the gentle hum of the kiln, this is where The Crumpled Potter comes to life.

"I love how no two pieces are quite the same. The glazes catch the light differently each day — there’s something grounding about using them."
—Anna P
"I bought a pair of candlesticks as a gift and ended up keeping them for myself. Beautifully made and full of character — they’ve become part of our table."
